They are available in three different operation options a with the same skylight shade appearance – manual, battery powered, and hard-wired motorized. And they feature a new more reliable belt-driven system housed within the shade side rails for level raising and lowering.

They can also be made in specialty shapes and with any of the Hunter Douglas lift systems including UltraGlide and the new PowerView Motorization.

Honeycomb shades are very popular here in Texas. Their cellular construction traps hot or coldair at the window making them very energy efficient and they provide much protection against harmful UV rays.

Duette Architella

We recently helped a customer who came into our Southlake store. She had just moved in to a new home in Grapevine, Texas and needed help with the windows in her Family and Breakfast Rooms. These windows face west and there is a large 2 story home behind her. So we selected the Duette Architella Shade in the Elan fabric (Daisy White color) with the UltraGlide lift system. And because she has an open concept design, we used the same shades for all windows. She also wanted to maximize control of the light at different times during the day.  So we added the Top Down/Bottom Up feature and it did the trick. The Architella Shades were a perfect solution for her soft contemporary look.  

The next step was adding Draperies and Curtains. Here we selected one fabric for the breakfast room and kitchen and a coordinating idea for the family room. We used a Grey and White contemporary pattern for the stationary panels in the breakfast and kitchen. This fabric looked beautiful with her Grey and White kitchen. Then for the Family room we used a linen fabric in 2 grey colors. They framed the window beautifully!

The best way I can describe these brand new shades is that they are sort of a cross between Honeycomb Shades and Roman Shades. Helping a New Customer

We recently helped a customer who said she had been everywhere looking for window treatments for her recently remodeled home. Other companies were pushing her towards plantation shutters or wood blinds, but what we heard from her is that she wanted to be Refreshed and Recharged. She wanted privacy at night but during the day, she wanted the light to shine in and the shades to disappear. She wanted a simple, but sophisticated look. For her next project, she wants to soften the look with stationary drapery panels for her next project.

Designer Roller Shades

For a look that is both custom and classic, Designer Roller Shades offer a clean appearance in a beautiful range of fabrics along with a variety of design options and lifting systems. Our solution for this customer was Designer Roller Shades by Hunter Douglas with the PowerView lift system. We chose a neutral textured fabric that will provide a backdrop and foundation for any color in the room. The Fabric is called Duncan and the color is Wisteria. This fabric gave our customer the updated look she wanted. And the PowerView lift system has offered her the convenience she had hoped for.   

Next steps are stationary drapery panels and curtains. Here we selected a Fabric from Kravet in a pattern style.

We recently helped a customer who came into our Plano location. She was building a new home in far north west Plano. For Doreen’s breakfast room we used Hunter Douglas Newstyle Hybrid Shutters. The unique style of wood meets the strength and straightness in the NewStyle hybrid shutters. A versatile complement to any interior, their micro-soft finish makes the beauty of high-quality shutters affordable for any home. And there are many colors to choose from. We selected a soft white to complement Doreen’s trim. And then for fun we added a valance that pulled all of the colors in her family room and breakfast room together. We both thought the final look is beautiful!

A recent Customer from The Keller area contacted us. We scheduled an appointment via one of our Mobile Showrooms. She wanted a New Look for her Family and Breakfast Room which faces southwest. We suggested 4” Silhouette in the Nouveaufabric.  The 4” louver size will maximize the back view which is beautiful and the Silhouette will control hard west UV rays.   This fabric has a little texture which I thought was needed. We had her walls painted a soft Gray and the Candy Coconut color provides a beautiful contrast. We also added PowerView Motorization with the Smart Phone Hub. Because she works late some evenings we thought this would make it easy to control .

Eventually we will be adding Drapery Panels and will be helping her with Reupholstery.
