Roman Shades are similar to cellular shades and are one of the most popular window coverings today. They are both functional and beautiful And they offer great energy efficiency. Here is one of our recent installation in Prosper, Texas. We used Tierred Vignette Modern Roman Shades by Hunter Douglas. The fabric we choose was Drake. The color of the fabric blended all the colors in this new home together. They have a total of 10 windows in the Family Room so we chose to use PowerView Motorization which will make it easy to open all of the shades at once and with this system the customer can set the shades to raise to their favorite spot. We all were very pleased with the look the Vignette Modern Roman Shades created.

A Southlake, Texas Shutter Installation - Lighting Up A Room With Style And Quality

We recently helped a customer in Southlake who had stopped by our Hunter Douglas Gallery. She knew she wanted shutters in her new family room and kitchen because these rooms face west. We showed her Hunter Douglas NewStyle shutters and she loved the quality and feel of the shutter as well as the ease of cleaning. They are at a great price point too! We then made an appointment for an in home consultation and measure. We suggested that we use the 4 1/2" louver size because of how it opens up the room to the outside. We used the Bright White color because of the perfect match to the window sills. 

The shutters were installed a few weeks later and they not only looked beautiful, they also helped with the client's energy efficiency, solar heat control and UV protection. The Hunter Douglas NewStyle Shutters were a perfect solution for these rooms. A few weeks later we were back adding shutters in her Master Bedroom and Bath. The Master Bath was my favorite. I love this look!

NewStyle Shutters In Frisco, Texas

For this client in Frisco, Texas we installed Hunter Douglas NewStyle Shutters throughout her new Shaddock Home. These shutters are custom crafted for each window. We used the standard Z frame and they all looked beautiful. Our client was happy with the high quality standards and the feeling of comfort that the home now has. We used 4 1/2" louvers to eccentuate the large windows and give the most view through to the outside. We added a divider rail so the bottom portion and top portion can operate independently providing privacy when needed and maximum light control up top. The front tilt rods gave the traditional shutter look that the client loved and makes her new house feel like home.

Client Work: Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades - Frisco, TX

I love using these Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades. This home in Frisco, Texas has a large back yard and we wanted a treatments that would really open up the view.  This Shade did the trick. We used The Urban Loft Organic Cotton fabric. This shade fabric added a little texture and gives a sort filtering light. We also used the PowerView lift system so that the look is very clean with no hanging cords. And we added the PowerView Hub so they can control the shades from their smart phone.  The customer added the app to her iPhone and she now has the ability to control the shades from where ever she is. Eventually we will be adding soft window treatments like draperies to finish the look. This is one of my favorites! We also used the Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades in her Master Bedroom. This is a very versatile fabric and is perfect for any room. These also have PowerView and can be controlled by the App on her iPhone.

Fresh Ideas For Your Home - Your Bed Design

Your bed is the design anchor of your bedroom.

Select a headboard or bed frame that adds beauty and commands attention. In the bedroom, it’s all about the bed. Make it the centerpiece of your boudoir and the first thing people notice when they walk in.

Beds can be made from so many materials, including wood, upholstery, brass, bronze, iron or leather – or a combination of these materials, such as a wood headboard frame with an upholstered insert or a wooden canopy bed with softly draped fabric. Some headboards even include built-in shelves above the bed or built-in nightstands at each side.

Beds come in so many shapes and sizes. They should be the right scale for the room, with larger rooms requiring taller or more substantial beds to add drama. In general, a headboard with sharp square corners will look more tailored and modern, while a cut-out or rounded shape will look more feminine and soft. The bed should also complement the other furniture and fabrics in a room. For more interest, add tufting or nailheads to upholstered headboards and think about painting the wall behind the bed in a dramatic accent color.

If you don’t have a headboard, your bedroom may look like something is missing. However,  you can fill out the space above your bed with artwork, shelves, a hanging tapestry or a Japanese fan – or display lots of pillows standing upright on the bed.

This is one of our recent installations of Solera Soft Shades in Frisco, Texas. We used the PowerView Motorization operating system and the fabric we selected was Layla in December White. It adds to the clean, soft contemporary look of the room and can easily be paired with almost any fabric for a drapery. That will be our next project.

Client Work: Before & After Kitchen Redesign - Frisco, TX

See how you can change a look with paint, molding, tile back splash and new hardware!

This customer in the Del Webb community in Frisco, Texas bought a new home. She loved the location and home but not so much the kitchen. So after she closed on the home, we went in and added trim and moldings. The cabinets were painted and a new tile back splash and new hardware were installed. It does not look like the same kitchen, but it is! For window treatments we used hunter Douglas Duette Architella shades in Batiste textured fabric which works beautifully with the look she wants. She can open the shades with the touch of her hand using the LiteRise operating system or can keep them closed and still get wonderful filtered light.
